Buying property in France

Important changes to inheritance laws - find out more
The European parliament has passed a regulation which allows expats in France to dictate in a will that they want the law of the state of their nationality to apply to their estate and not French inheritance law. This, in effect, means Britons in particular can leave their estate to whoever they wish and not be bound by strict inheritance rules as at present. It is expected to be operational from 2015.

This is an important issue. To find more details see The Connexion, April edition, which is on sale now in newsagents and supermarkets across France. Click here to find a stockist near you or download a copy here. The cost is €3.25.
